"At the Well of Nectar"

  
Photo ©2003 Frank H Phillips, All Rights Reserved I shot this Skipper Butterfly at the Chateau Elan resort east of Atlanta.  This butterfly was actually much smaller than it appears.  As a technical note, the "straw" dipping from the butterfly's face into the flower is called "proboscis" and it serves as a straw to draw nectar from the flower.
